ISEC is located in a sylvan 16-hectare campus at Nagarbhavi, abutting the Bangalore University's 'Jnanabharati' premises on the south-western outskirts of the city. Besides the academic and administrative complex, the hostels for the students and guesthouse for the visiting scholars, the campus has a residential facility for 77 faculty and staff of the Institute. It also has well-equipped seminar halls and a 300-seater auditorium. The Institute's campus is well maintained with sprawling gardens and lawns and a variety of flora and fauna. The Bangalore Urban Arts Commission has judged the Institute's campus as one of the best maintained campuses in the city of Bangalore consistently for three years

Library

Dr VKRV Rao Library is one of India's premier research libraries in social sciences. Since its inception in 1972, the library has been an integral part of the institution, providing efficient and timely support to the institute’s faculties, researchers, PhD scholars as well as to policy makers, administrators, consultants, students from all over the country. It holds a large collection of current and historical statistical sources produced by central and state governments and multilateral institutions. These include statistical yearbooks, bulletins, population censuses, trade statistics, and a large range of economic, financial and social data. The library plays a vital role in collecting, organizing and disseminating information for the benefit of researchers. The Library has a collection of over 1.34 lakh documents including Books, Reports, Bound Volumes of Journals, Theses etc.. The library subscribes to 291 print journals. It subscribes to online databases viz., JSTOR, EconLit Fulltext, Prowess(CMIE), Indiastat.com, ISID, EPWRF ITS, etc. The library is a depository library for World Bank. A notable treasure of the library is the collection of valuable books as a bequest from Bharat Ratna Sir. M. Seminar Hall and Auditorium

The Institute has two well equipped with all the modern facilities and fully air-conditioned seminar halls with a seating capacity of 70 persons. In addition a separate Committee room with seating capacity of 30 persons is available for conducting meetings. And also there is Auditorium of 300 seating capacity is available for organising large conference and workshops.

Guest House

The Guest House is situated inside the campus adjacent to the Administrative Block having a two storied block surrounded by flora and fauna. The accommodation available in the Guest House comprises of four (4) A/c suits, twenty four (24) A/c single rooms. The charges for the rooms are very nominal. The A/c suits are well furnished with satellite TV, refrigerator, seating hall with sofa set and telephone. The single rooms are also well furnished with intercom and TV facility

The Guest House accommodation can be availed for visiting scholars by contacting The Registrar of the Institute well in advance by email: registrar@isec.ac.in or by post. The Guest House is accessible 24 hours.

Mess

The Institute also has mess facility for visiting scholars. The mess is run and maintained by Ph.D Scholars of the Institute wherein one can have a simple and tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner on payment basis, which are nominally charged. One can have the meals along with the students in students’ dining hall. There is a separate dining hall where the food can be arranged for larger groups.

Computing

ISEC is in the process of updating itself to new Information Technology revolution. ISEC has acquired a new 150 mbps leased line connectivity from BSNL on Fiber in addition to 2 mbps leased line connection from TATA Communications for Internet access. It has got well-connected Local Area Network catering to about 200 users in the Institute. The ISEC website www.isec.ac.in and E-Mail server are hosted at ISEC itself.

 

Hardware

The Computer Centre has got two servers, one HP Proliant ML370 with Linux Operating System which works as Web server and E-mail server. and one HP Proliant ML350 with Linux Operating System which works as Intranet Server. ISEC has got more tha 300 Personal Computers of Core I7/I5/I3, Core 2 Duo, Dual Core & Pentium-IV, based PC's which are installed in individual offices and are connected through Local Area Network. A separate Computer Lab with 12 computers for Ph.D scholars with network and internet, printing and scaning facility has been provided. Library has been provided with 10 computers and a Server with Linux Operating System and Libsys Software for Library Database. In addition, ISEC has also got more than 45 Laptop Computers for the faculty use and five LCD Projector along with the Laptop Computers for Multimedia projections in the Seminar Rooms.Each Unit/Departments has been provided with a Laser printer which is accessible through LAN for unit members.

Software

Faculty and students mostly use Microsoft Office for text and Data processing. Statistical Packages like Stata, Winrats, Eviews, Microfit OX, SPSSPC+, Definite and Stella are commonly used for Data & Statistical calculations.
