Gurulinaiah M

Prof. M. Gurulingaiah Born in the year 1967, at Mallenahalli, Gubbi Taluk, Tumkur District, Karnataka State. He obtained B. A. M.A., M. Phil, degrees from Bangalore University and Ph.D. from Mangalore University. Dr. M. Gurulingaiah was appointed as a Lecturer at Mangalore University in 1995 and served as Reader in the same University till 2009. Later on Dr. M. Gurulingaiah was appointed as Professor in Department of Sociology at Kuvempu University, Shivamogga, Karnataka. Dr. M. Gurulingaiah Served as a Chairman of the Department of Sociology at Mangalore and Kuvempu University. He served as a Member and Chairman of BOS, BOA and BOE of Tumkur, Mangalore, Kuvempu, Davanagere, Bangalore and Mysore Universities. He is also served as a Member of the Academic Council at Kuvempu University in two terms. He authored 10 books in English and Kannada and edited 12 books. Dr. M. Gurulingaiah has published about 60 research paper in reputed journals and books. He has attended more than 90 International, National State lever Conferences, Seminars and workshops. He has conducted 5 major policy-oriented research projects sponsored by the government some of them are Ethnographic studies of the various communities. So far he has guided 25 Ph.D. students and 10 M. Phil Students. Prof M. Guruligaiah has served about 32 years in teaching and research in Sociology at Mangalore and Kuvempu Universities. Prof. M. Gurulingaiah has been nominated as a Social Scientist and Member of Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission as a fulltime member from 2014 to 2018. Dr. M. Gurulingaiah is elected as President of the Karnataka Sociology Association (R.) for two terms from 2019 to 2024. Prof. M. Gurulingaiah served as Dean of Social Science, Dean of Student Welfare and Director, School of Social Sciences, Kuvempu University Shimogga, Karnataka. Presently Prof. M. Gurulingaiah Working as Senior Professor in the Department of Sociology Kuvempu University, Shimogga, Karnataka.
