ISEC, an inter-disciplinary research institute for Social Sciences offers
Certificate Course in Methods and Applications in Social Science Research (CCMASSR).
It is a two-week residential course, designed to provide the participants
with a systematic understanding of society and social phenomena, with a view
to equip them address the social issues confronting contemporary rural and
urban areas, effectively. The course is inter-disciplinary in structure and
content; modules are customized to suit the diverse needs of the
participants, hailing from faculty in institutions, PG students and
researchers, with varied social science background. Besides formal classroom
events, the Course provides hands-on exercise in statistical methods and
field-based studies, with the objective of exposing the participants to
different aspects of social science research methods.
Post-graduates, faculty of higher educational institutions engaged in
social science teaching and research, trainers, senior administrators,
business management students, members of corporate sector, civil society organisations and others, who tend to undertake research for policy
formulations, are welcome to apply. The course fee is Rs.20,000, which is
subsidised to 12,000, covering expenses towards lodging, boarding and course material.
